Developed as part of the lastnight.co.uk project, customers can buy vouchers online for things such as bars and restaurants which are then sent as a text message to a friend. Usable at participating venues simply show the text to receive the gift.

SMS Bar Codes

For added security and to prevent possible abuse of the sms text voucher process Mspan developed an sms barcode generator which works with conventional barcode readers. An sms barcode can be sent to a mobile which is then scanned, instantly recognised and stored via a conventional EPOS system. This prevents abuse and in particular anyone trying to use the vouchers more than once.
